Out to Eat

Wow!! I have been out to eat twice within less than 24 hours!!

Last night, a friend from work and church and I went to the Pizza Grille. This is truly a unique place. All of the pizzas are individual, and there are about 15 different pizzas to choose from. Their house salad is awesome with a dijon house dressing. Yummy!! We sat there and talked, and then went from there to her house to visit for a little while. I got home around 11, fell asleep, and woke up at 3--unable to go back to sleep.

I don't know what is with my sleep patterns lately, but I never seem to get a full night's rest--beginning to get very disturbing! I don't mind getting up early, in fact, I'd rather get up early, but waking up at 3 and not going back to sleep night after night is getting tiresome (literally!).

Then, this morning, this same friend and I met someone who had retired from our work in April for breakfast at a small restaurant in town in Mechanicsburg. We had our coffee, our breakfast, and then sat and talked and visited--just caught up with one another. We stayed there for almost 3 1/2 hours. When I came home, my son said, "That must have been a very big breakfast!"

We decided that we need to get together and visit more frequently than this. And we now how this goes--we always have good intentions to do things like this, and then they tend to fall by the wayside. I think in order to do this, you almost have to set a definite date, and then follow through.

I'm working on the baby blanket today. Would somebody please do me a favor? The next time I decide to do something like this, remind me to look for a pattern that requires something larger than a size 4 needle. This is seeming to take forever. At the rate I'm going, I hope I'm finished before the baby is born--much less for the baby shower in October!

Beth when you wake up at three am... try praying. I always believed when I was woken at a weird hour God was calling me to prayer, and sadly prayer will usually lull me back to sleep too, I rarely get to the final amen.

I've been doing that, and I find that I have some of my best conversations with God in the middle of the night.

Like last night, He awoke me with the word "trust" in my head. And I prayed about that with Him.

How's your poor finger?

Prayer has worked for me too. I think sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night for no other reason than to spend time w/ Him... cause unfortunately I don't always give Him my full time and attention during the day.

More recently though... waking up at night has been to nurse the baby... I am usually up at three am too. Ugh!
