I NEED HELP!!

I am so frustrated!! I am making a baby afghan for my daughters' best friend. I have known this young girl since she was three years old, and I wanted this to be special for her. Her baby shower is on October 26, and my Lindsay is flying home from Texas for 4 days just so she can attend this shower and surprise her friend!

Yesterday, I was determined that I was going to finish this blanket. Almost to the end, when "OH, NO", I found that I had made a mistake in that row. No problem, I thought--I'll just tink back and fix the error.

But, did this work out the way I had planned? Of course not!!

Instead I ending up dropping a stitch and the whole thing started unraveling right before my eyes below that stitch--at least halfway down the side of the afghan!!

So, now I need help!! There is no way I am starting completely over with this pattern! It has taken me weeks and weeks to even come close to complete to knitting this!

I'm now looking to crochet something--for some reason that goes a lot faster!!

Here's where I need your help--if you have a quick crochet baby blanket that would look nice in a variegated (very light blue to medium blue and brown yarn), please let me know!!

I'm desperate!!

Beth, I don't know anything about knitting or crocheting - and if your daughters friend doesn't either - here's an idea:

Pick your easiest pattern/thing to do - make it the best you can and then get the baby's name embroidered in the corner. Her friend won't care that it's a "simple" pattern and it would still be from your heart - which makes it the best!
I'm sorry it came apart - I know that's frustrating! Let us know what happens!

Beth, I have experienced that same frustration...it makes you want to tear your hair out doesn't it?!?!

Have you looked at Ammee's Babies Blankets? (www.ammeesbabies.com)
It is a blanket kit. The blanket is completed except for the crocheted edging that you do. I have seen them recommended several places and they look really nice. It is quite possibly the best of both worlds. Hope this helps you out!

Oh, I'm so sorry it came apart. Dorthy is right though, whatever you make will be appreciated.

Sorry, I'm not a knitter or the like?? I wish I were, but one thing I know, call out to God and He WILL rescue you in this situation! He is the author of good ideas.

God bless!
