Down For a Day

Yesterday was a day, I tell you!! I woke at 2 a.m. with a migraine. No problem, I thought--I'll just take some of the medication the neurologist gave me, try to sleep a little more and then head off to work.

So, off to work I go!! I was there 2 1/2 hours when I was sent home. This was definitely a no-brainer on my part--I should have just stayed home in bed. But then again, we are understaffed, one person working with a back injury and another person still in training!! I thought I should surely be there!!

But, in reality, I belonged home in bed. I came home, thinking I'll have some peace and quiet, rest and my headache will go away--just like it always does.

Unfortunately, the apartment complex behind mine was doing some sort of repairs that required jackhammers!! As if I didn't already have enough jackhammers right in my own head!!

That ferocious noise finally stopped. Ah, relief!! But, no, then the grass was being cut right outside my bedroom window. Thankfully, that went rather quickly, and I was able to get some rest.

I awoke later in the day with a very dry throat. Out to the kitchen to get a glass of water, and there I stepped on a piece of glass!! Someone (not mentioning any names here!) had dropped a glass, broken it, and thought they had cleaned up all the glass.

Obviously, this wasn't the case, because my toe found the one piece of glass that was missed! Blood dripping from my toe, I limped off to the bathroom to clean this up. But, it wouldn't stop bleeding!! So, I wrapped it very tightly with a pressure bandage and back to bed.

At least, this pain took my focus off the pain in my head for a little while!!

Finally, sweet sleep--from around 3:30 p.m. until now!! My toe is still seeping blood occasionally, and as I look at it this morning, this cut really should have required some stitching!!

Well, I'm off to work again today--hopefully, a better day than yesterday!! No progress on the baby blanket obviously!! This is going to go to work with me today to work on a little during lunch.

K--that's all for a while!!

Beth, you had a tough time of it. I hope you are doing much better now. Is your migraine gone? How is your foot?

Blessings Beth, Now I see what you mean...you needed a prayer...So sorry! Doesn't it just seem that way, when you are weak or vulnerable(a migraine) the world just does not let up...and then one thing after another tears us down! When we are weak, we need more of Him & sometimes it just seems like one more task to add to an ever growing list of to-do's yet Our Lord wants us to come away & be refreshed. For when it is well with our soul, stress which brings on the migraines & irresponsible people that cause our anger or irritations just won't matter as we look beyond our humanness & theirs
frailties, weaknesses, quirks...we can distance ourselves enough to LOVE them inspite of it all!

Hoping that bringing the blanket to work gives you a few brief moments to therapeutically do this labor of
love!!! One stitch at a time, on the way to discover the POWER OF LOVE! Loving ya & praying today!

You'd better get your foot looked at if it needed stitches & be sure that you don't let it get infected!
Sounds like a mother...huh? Just hope you feel better: head to toe!
You are the first person I know on line that is the same age...so we are like two peas in a pod!!!

I'm so sorry about your day. Perhaps a reminder to take the time to hide away and rest with Him?

Hi Beth. I wanted to pop in to thank you for stopping by my blog and to personally invite you to participate. Your comment was a verification of what the Lord had whispered to my heart early this morning as I was rushing my children out the door, "Today is a day not only to participate in a dare with your husband... but to practice patience with your children as well."

PLEASE join us in this Love Dare. Learning to Love as God loves applies to more than just marital relationships. Your relationship wtih your children will experience the same blessings and changes that marriages experience as you implement the same Dares.

I also wanted to tell you that you live in my "home town". I am a Messiah-girl... graduated in 97. LOVED every second and visit the area often as my inlaws still live there.

My SIL lives directly behind Mechanicsburg High and goes to West Shore E-Free...

Maybe next time I am in we can meet for Starbucks :)

I'm adding you to my prayer list friend.
