MY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!

Yes, she is 26, but she will always be my baby!!

The mittens fit perfectly!! I was a little concerned about this. Cara's hands are much larger than mine, and I kept trying them on and thinking to myself--just a little longer, just a little wider. She is so happy with her mittens, as you can see.

Andrew told her that they had better fit since I woke him up at 3:30 one morning to try one one. I knew that if they fit him, they would fit her!!

Cara was so excited and happy to receive these mittens. She couldn't believe that I had finished them in time for her birthday.

We're going to go out to dinner over the weekend for her birthday. All in all, a wonderful birthday!! She and I have had our differences over the years (especially that very difficult teenage time), but today we each talked sensibly about a problem that has been going on recently in her life. And surprise--we both agreed with each other and reached a resolution.

I guess there are advantages to having your children grow up (yes, Pam--even though I'm still 22--how does that work anyway?)

And, Kathy--thanks for telling me the link didn't work!! I fixed it in case you want to look up the pattern. You knit much more than me--if I can do it--you can do it!! I know a little boy who needs some red mittens!!

Beth

Happy Birthday, Cara! Today (the 20th) is my birthday, too! Of course, you'll need to add 30 years to your age to get mine ;)

Beautiful girl...beautiful mittens...beautiful post showing your "real" relationship. What a gift to have our adult children choose us as friends as well as parents. When I am adding up all my blessings that is one that lands right up there under Jesus Christ as Lord.

My daughter turns 40 in a few weeks and we are planning the celebration. I shared with her the day she was born and I could hardly believe that was 40 years ago. I had difficulty getting pregnant and I had dreamed of a baby for 5 years. I was the most excited expectant and new mom you have ever seen.

Oh the beauty of a Godly mother daughter relationship. Thanks for sharing.

My my, those are lovely mittens! Thank you for fixing the link to the pattern. I have my copy now.

Giggles. You woke your son up at 3 a.m? lol. Life with a knitter is quite an adventure, eh?
