Happy Birthday, Cara!

Today is my oldest daughter's 26th birthday. It's hard to believe that 26 years have gone by, with all its ups and downs.

Cara requested a pair of mittens to match the scarf and hat that I made her for Christmas. She told me this the middle of last week!

Did I finish them? Yes, I did!! Just finished the last t
humb this morning, steamed them, and I think they turned out pretty well for my first pair of mittens!!

Here's the pattern, if you're interested. I like this pattern a lot--has instructions from small children to men's--and it's easy to follow.

So, a very happy birthday to Cara!! Hopefully, they fit!! I made them a little bigger than my own hand, and they should. If I'm lucky, I'll get her to pose for a picture with her hat, scarf and mittens.

Be sure and check out my kitty tracker!! It says 7 pounds, but apparently kitty's don't do decimals!! It's actually 7.4 pounds, and that 0.4 is important!!

Oh my gosh, I am impressed!!! Those are some beautiful mittens! WTG! And hallelujah for the 7.4 pounds. You're right that .4 is important!!! one more .1 pound and you can say 7.5 -- which rounded up is EIGHT!!!!

Congratulations (and happy birthday Cara).

Love,
b

1. I'm in awe of those mittens...my first pair never made it past the thumb---well it kind of looked like
a thumb shooting out there.

2. WOO HOO for the weight loss and you're right the .4 does count.

3. It is an amazing thing to have children in their 20's...how did we get there and how did that happen when I am only 22. :)
