ABC's of the Word

Pam at Grey Like Snuffie hosts "ABC's of the Word"--a fun exploration of Bible verses using the alphabet. Be sure and visit Pam to see all the different verses each of those participating chose for this week. We're starting all over again with the letter

For my "A" word, I have chosen two words:



"AND I pray that you, being rooted AND established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide AND long AND high AND deep is the love of Christ, AND to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.".....Ephesians 3:17-19 (NIV)

I have to admit that I chose this verse simply because I love what it tells me. All the "ands" add up to a love that goes beyond comparison, a love that we will never find here on this earth--no matter how hard we may search. That love is the love of Jesus Christ, a love that is immeasurable and amazing.

Amazing!! The words amaze, amazing, amazed are used throughout the Old and the New Testament. I did a quick search and found 41 verses that contain the word "amazed."

And is it any wonder? Our Lord is amazing, and we just cannot grasp the concept of how wide and how long and how high and how deep His love for us is.

As I read the scripture, before I read your thoughts I just felt like each AND kept adding on and adding on more depth, more power, more was like "let me layer more and more on top to bless and amaze you". That scripture has held a special place in my heart the last few years...many prayed it for me as I have been in "the dark night of my soul" as Beth Moore puts it. I have clung to all those words as His promise for life to be restored and He has been doing it. One of the ways is through the ABC' thank you for joining in. Very selfishly it is a HUGE encouragement to me. Praying you have a grand day with Him!

"AMAZING" was the first word that came to me also. I love how you pointed out all the "and's" as it's just like our Lord...there's just more and more!!

Blessings Beth...I put on your AMAZING song after enJOYING your AMAZING post and AMAZING verse & clicked to The Power...and totally forgot about my words to you here!

AND...what a blessing you & your "A" choice is because it is so YOU! "A" is really a "V" turned
from one point to standing on 2 legs...which our AMAZING God does for us and then He puts His ARMS outstretched on the cross saying
"This is how much I love you" and it is in these ARMS we come often to find that AMAZING LOVE & GRACE!
It is in HIS ARMS, we find that strength, that power, that gap is closed between sin & death AND life eternally and ABUNDANTLY! In these ARMS, we find our security & our sense of value, our identity in Christ Jesus. AND Ephesians, as you know...walks us through this GROWTH.

You can always seem to take the simple, like "AND" and create something AMAZING! Grace is so amazing and His unfailing love!

We stand AMAZED together under the umbrella of that LOVE! And LORD I'm AMAZED by YOU that You Love me!
