WOO HOO!! Another Market Bag Completed!!

I've been working on this second market bag since I came home from work today. So that's what? About 3 hours!! But, I was determined to finish this today so that I could move on!!

And here it is--Lindsay's second market bag:

I like the design of this bag--it actually has a rectangular bottom so that items can lay flat in it. A big thank you to Cathy Phillips of CAP's Crochet for designing both of the market bags that I've made.

Let's see........what should I make next? I know!! I think my son is feeling left out!! He has been seeing me make Christmas presents for the girls, and he did ask me a few days ago what I was making him. I asked him what he would like, and he really didn't know. I suggested a knit hat since he does deliveries on the weekend. It's been pretty cold out lately, and it's just going to get colder!! So, a hat it is for him!! He was agreeable to this and would like this made in black--a plain hat, he says.

That will be the next project on the needles!!

Just a reminder--I'll be posting my item for the Holiday Expo at Internet Cafe on Thursday morning. You can check out the details about this here. If you'd like to participate, be sure to link up with Mr. Linky on Thursday!!

My "Gratitude Journal" is going along well. I'll be posting what I've been thankful for also on Thursday with Sonya's Thankful Thursday!!

Whew!! Thursday is going to be a busy day!!

K--that's all for a while!! I have more knitting to do!!

Christmas Progression

So far, the rugs that I posted several days ago have done nothing but frustrate me. I have almost completely started them over twice. After doing this the second time, I set them aside for a while. I know myself enough to know that when a project is frustrating me, I'm best to put it down, move on to something else and then come back to it later.

I think the reason it is so frustrating to me is the many color
changes. I'm thinking of a different way to do this to make it a little easier.

What have I moved on to?

I have started LIndsay's second market bag:

Today I went to the store to buy the circular needles I needed to make Cara's hat to match her scarf. I couldn't believe of all the needles that I have that I didn't have this size!! So that will also be in progress--hopefully by the beginning of the week.

I know that some of you think I have forgotten my Kitty Tracker, but I have not!! So, here is kitty moving along:

Thank goodness I have finally reached beyond the 10 pound point!! It seemed to take forever!! But, what you have to remember (and probably most of you don't know) is that last year at this time I was almost 50 pounds heavier than I am now.

And yesterday and last night, we had our first snow!!

I took these pictures yesterday outside of my office before I went into work. Not a lot of snow, maybe 1/2 to 1 inch, and then just cold enough to make the road a little icy last night. We've had flurries off and on through the day.

Back to the Christmas projects now!!

K--that's all for a while!!

The Cleaning Game--Tornado Tuesday

Oh, I was thinking I was a day behind again!! But, I'm not--this is the task that Grammy has posted last night to be completed by this evening.

Today's task is to organize 1 thing.

You can organize your yarn
organize 1 cabinet or drawer
Just pick 1 easy thing to do.

It is up to you what needs to get
organized for your self.

What?? Organize your yarn, organize a cabinet or a drawer? I wonder it that includes that closet I mentioned yesterday?

Hmmm...seems pretty odd, doesn't it? That Grammy would mention yarn, a cabinet or a drawer when I just posted pictures of all the mess that Miles has made. But, no the timing is wrong. She just must know more about my life than I think!!

If you want to learn more about The Cleaning Game, you can just click on the picture in my sidebar, and you'll be directed to Grammy's site!

Progress is being made on Lindsay's market bag!! I don't have pictures yet. I'll wait until a little more is completed so you can see how pretty it is going to be. I'm pleased with my progress so far.

And PLEASE, remind me in January, 2009 to start for Christmas of 2009 so that I am not being overwhelmed like this again!!

I'll be back later to let you know about the completion of my task. I don't know--I'm looking at this closet right now--it looks a little bit too much to accomplish in one evening. So, maybe just the yarn--which is still on the floor!!

K--that's all for a while!!

Project #1 Is Off The Needles!!

WOO HOO!!! Finally finished the Irish Hiking Scarf for Cara, and now I can move on to Lindsay's market bag!!

It took me a little longer than I anticipated. I thought I w
as finished, but when I put this scarf around my neck I realized that it needed to be longer. Cara is much taller than me, and it was perfect for me, so I added another 6 inches in length.

The scarf is folded in half here, and is actually just under 6 feet long. That should be long enough for her, don't you think? I sure hope so because I'm ready to move on!!

K--that's all for a while!!

Almost There (on Project #1)!

I spent most of the day yesterday working on Cara's Irish Hiking Scarf. There are a lot of nice patterns on this site, but I'd better not look right now or my list is going to grow longer. That wouldn't do with only 47 days left until Christmas. And guess what??

It is about 3 feet long now, which is a little over half way c
ompleted!! I should be able to finish this today and move on to one of Lindsay's market bags!!

Yeah!! Progress has been made!!

A big thank you to Pea who left some very nice links to Christmas countdowns. There were so many I liked I had trouble picking. I just stopped by to visit her, and she is all decorated for Christmas and also has links for Holiday Cooking Blogger Style and also, and more importantly, Mary's Christmas Card Shower for a Soldier. These cards need to be there by November 15, so please hurry over and support a young lady overseas and away from home for the very first time.

Here's a picture of the scarf so far:

Here's the beginnings of Lindsay's market bag (1 of 2 that I want to finish):

Hmmmm.......not much done there yet! I guess I'd better get to work!!

And one last thing--I've you're looking for some inspiration today, stop by here for "Then Sings My Soul Saturday"!!

K--that's all for a while!!

And the Countdown Begins!

Free Christmas Countdown

I was looking for a small Christmas countdown to place in my sidebar, but couldn't find my to my liking. So, here it is, and today is the day!!

Today, I'm going to be working on Cara's Irish Hiking Scarf (not that she hikes much, but she will love this scarf!).

Here is my progress so far:

I'm going to be working on this all day today (minus the time I go to have my haircut!), and I'll come back later to show you how far I've progressed!! It's a shame I have to hold all of you accountable for my Christmas projects, but it seems that I do!!

Be back later!!

No Progress Again!!

All I can say is that I am glad I'm off work tomorrow because again last night I made absolutely no progress in my Christmas projects!!

Tomorrow and this weekend are going to be diligently used to work on these. What is the matter with me that I have started all these projects and just can't seem to pick them up to complete them?

I think I may need to add a Christmas countdown on my sidebar. That ought to get me moving!!

Hopefully, after tomorrow I'll have some progress made and have a few pictures to share. All except for the ones that might just be for you!!

K--that's all for a while!!

Christmas List Progress

I'm sad to report that I made absolutely NO progress on my Christmas projects yesterday!! Not one bit!!

And to top it off, I remembered something that I needed to include in the list--satin pillowcases. I already have the material for these--just need to cut them out and sew them.

Satin pillowcases, you say? Yes, satin pillowcases!!

When I was a teenager, my hair was very long--I could sit on it. If I didn't braid it at night, I had knots galore in the morning!! So, my mom got my sister and I satin pillowcases--and voila--no knots!!

My hair is still long--though not as long as it used to be, and I still use a satin pillowcase. My youngest daughter knew that these prevented knots, and loved them. But, when she moved to Texas she started using regular pillowcases. Her hair is also long.

She went to the hairdresser to get her hair trimmed, and the hairdresser said to her, "You sleep on your left side, don't you?" And she replied, "Yes, I do. How do you know that?" To which the hairdresser replied, "Your hair is thinner on the left side from breakage from your pillowcase."

Guess what?? Back to satin pillowcases for her!!

So, they have been added to the "Christmas To-Do List"!! I've got to stop soon.

Would someone please remind me next year to start on Christmas in January instead on November?

K--That's all for a while!!
