Today is Miles' big day!! She is going to be spayed today, and hopefully will sleep through the rest of the day after her surgery. Poor kitty--but this will save both her and me a lot of distress.
Please join me at The Power of Your Love for Then Sings My Soul Saturday and a continuation of "The Power of Praying Through the Bible".
I also have a prayer posted on The Lighthouse of Prayer here. My prayer is the last one listed on this post--in the comment section that is entitled "Prayers Lifted to the Throne of God". Please join me in uplifting my son to Our Father.
Thanks so much!!

PRAISE GOD!
This is the week that God has chosen in my life to begin restoring to me what has been lost. I have nothing but praise to God for this entire situation. This is not of my making, but God's making--His love and provision for me--His using a young man whom I have known since childhood to come and bless me.
To see my specific praise song, please stop by The Power of Your Love. Then travel on to The Lighthouse of Prayer where you will be able to read my prayer of thanksgiving.

I'm So Excited, and I Just Can't Hide It!!!

Yes, I am excited!!! Yes, I am ecstatic!! Yes, I am jumping for joy!! And I just have to share my happiness and joy with all of you!!
God has answered a prayer of mine!! This has been a prayer that I've requested of our Lord for quite a long time, and I've waited patiently for Him to answer--
waiting.......waiting.....waiting.....5 years of waiting!!
And the answer has come last night!!!! Thank you, God!!!
Here is the story:
I have lived in an apartment since 1999--three different apartments. At first, I was at peace in my apartment living situation--the first one was an escape from a terrible situation.
The second apartment was not so peaceful--the terrible situation was back!! And so, I moved again to my third apartment. I have been here for 5 years.
I will more than likely never be able to purchase a home. My home was lost to foreclosure, and I will carry that with me always.
I'm not complaining about my living situation because I am thankful I have a roof over my head. But, there are things I miss by apartment living.
I miss having a garden. I miss being able to dig in the dirt, plant flowers, nurture them and watch them grow. I miss being able to sit outside and read or do whatever and just be!!
Last night, one of my son's friends called me. He owns a home, and he has purchased a second home to use as a rental property.
When he called me, he said that he looked at this house, and I immediately came to his mind--that this house would be for me!!
And then he went on to describe the house--a small 3 bedroom rancher, a yard, a deck on the back overlooking the creek, the kitchen newly remodeled, a washer and dryer already there. He said, "It's all ready, Mutti--all ready for you. Just give me the word."
I then asked him about the security deposit--I just don't have that kind of money laying around. He said, "Not for you, Mutti, not for you. I've known you since I was a little boy. No security deposit for you."
I asked him what kind of heating system this house has. "Oil. But the tank is over half-full, and I'm going to top it off for you. Don't worry about it."
Air conditioning? "Yes, central air."
Three bedrooms? "Yes, three bedrooms--one for you, one for Andrew, and one to be made into an office and craft room for you."
Can I plant flowers? "As many as you want."
Does it need any repairs at all? "I'm going to replace the bathroom linoleum with ceramic tiles just because I like them. Other than that, you could move in tomorrow. Brand new siding on the house. Everything in perfect condition."
Okay--here's the big question--how much a month? "All I'm asking is enough to cover the mortgage, and from what you've told me that is less than what you're paying in rent. We'll work it all out. Don't worry yourself--this house is for you. I know it. When I looked at it, I said to myself that this house is for Mutti. I can just see you sitting on the deck, looking at the creek, reading and knitting. I bought it for you. I'll help you move, I'll help you in whatever way I can."
Can I tell you that I am sitting here crying? Because that is exactly what I'm doing!!
God has answered my prayers for a small home to live in and enjoy and relax!! All answered through a friend of my son's. His name is Josh, and I have known him since he was just a little boy. He and my son have been friends for years, and to think that he thought of me in this way--well, I tell you--I just can't stop crying for joy!!
I haven't even seen this house yet, and I know in my heart that it is the house for me. We're going to look at it on Tuesday after work since we both have Monday things to attend to.
I'll take my camera to share pictures with you of my new home. And here, I took the last week of February off and was just going to stay here and knit. Looks like I'm going to be moving instead. Hmmmmm......the time off also in God's planning? I would have to say definitely "YES"!!
Thank you, God, for hearing and answering my prayers!! I've waited patiently, and now the answer has come! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I do have a request to make of you. If you read this and you feel as strongly as I do in the power of prayer, please copy the button that I've made and post this on your own blog. It is located the top of the page. You might even want to post a little something about "The Lighthouse of Prayer".
All around, I read of people needing prayer, requesting prayer. We need the word to be spread about "The Lighthouse"--a place where everyone can come and leave a prayer request--even anonymously--and prayers will be uplifted for you. Everyone can join in the prayers uplifting others. This is an interactive blog, and we need to be here for one another, joining together in our requests to God's Throne.
He does hear and He does answer!!

10 Things I Love
Jennifer at Through the Storms of Life posted 10 things that she loved starting with the letter "M".
I decided to play along with her, and she assigned the letter "R". So, here are 10 things that I love which begin with the letter "R":
Stop by "The Power of Your Love" today. I've posted a poem about walking by faith and not by sight.
Then, be sure to visit "The Lighthouse of Prayer". We're praying for a friend today--one friend, concerns you have for that friend that have been placed on your heart and in your mind.
I'd love to see you there!!

I decided to play along with her, and she assigned the letter "R". So, here are 10 things that I love which begin with the letter "R":
- Reading--I love to read and spend a portion of every day reading for enjoyment and relaxation, learning something new every day of my life.
- Rainbows--I don't see rainbows too often, but I always find them beautiful and amazing. A rainbow always reminds me of God's covenant with Noah--And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come. I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.".....Genesis 9:12-16
- Red licorice--My daughter, Lindsay, lives in Texas. Everytime she comes home for a visit she brings Kooka Burra Red Licorice--the very best red licorice I have ever tasted. Of course, I sometimes don't get too much of this with my son around. He loves this, too. I suppose this is a good thing that I don't have too much too often affecting the progress of my kitty tracker!!
- Real--I love people who are real and up front with me, sharing the ups and downs of their lives. We all have these, and people are who real have helped me in my walk of faith with my Lord.
- Rabbits--I don't have a bunny rabbit, but we used to. His name was Taco, and I loved watching him hop around all over the place--just exploring everything. There are many rabbits that live in the outdoors near me, and I love when the little ones are born. They just look so cute hopping around!
- Redeeming Grace--I love my God with all my heart and soul. I am thankful for His redeeming grace and mercies in my life. Where would I be without Him? I know where I would be--still on the path to destruction.
- Ravelry--a wonderful knitting website that has all kinds of information, patterns, anything I want to make or learn is there. And if it's not, there's always a place to ask a question, and someone will help you. Do you know anyone who knits or crochets that doesn't love Ravelry? I don't!!
- Relevance--I read and study a lot. Some of this has meaning in my life and some does not. So, I always ask myself the question: "Does this apply to me in my life at this time? What relevance does this have in my life? Is this revealing to me something that I need to know and carry with me?"
- Rain--I love hearing the raindrops falling on the leaves outside my bedroom window. This is a very relaxing sound to me, and I could just stay there and listen for a very long time.
- Red berries--We have a tree outside my office that has red berries on it all year round. Thus, the picture in my header (no, I didn't take this picture--can't take credit for this one), but I have taken many pictures of these red berries at different times of year--ice covered, snow covered, and these berries full and plump in the springtime.
Stop by "The Power of Your Love" today. I've posted a poem about walking by faith and not by sight.
Then, be sure to visit "The Lighthouse of Prayer". We're praying for a friend today--one friend, concerns you have for that friend that have been placed on your heart and in your mind.
