A Short Walk Down Memory Lane....

In my packing frenzy, I found a box--a box that I have had and not looked at for many years. I brought this box home with me from Baltimore after my Dad passed away. My brothers and sister and I had finished getting their home ready for sale. While doing this, we came upon box after box of pictures. They were divided them among us and each took some home. I put this box in my closet, have moved this box 3 times since then.

I decided to finally look and see what pictures were inside. I didn't know. I was in a very bad state at that time, and the job of sorting through the pictures and dividing them between us fell to my sister. I just couldn't look at the pictures then. I was not strong.

Now, I am ready.........these are just a few of what I've found:

My Mom and Dad.
I don't know exactly when this picture was taken, but I would think probably while they were still dating or shortly before they marrie
d. Early 1940's probably.

This is me. I see my Mom has 22 months written on this picture. I was a blonde! And look at me smelling and loving the flowers even at this age!! Check out the bracelet on my right wrist! I still have two bracelets on my right wrist!! Hmmmm.....
Must be 1955

Here I am at the age of two--sitting on the front steps of our home. Again--1955.

And here I am--all dressed up for Easter at the age of 3!!

I haven't finished going through this box yet, but I will this time. I'm not going to place this box in a closet and forget about it. There are many good and some sad memories in this box. I'm ready to look at them now and remember.

We look like clones...some pictures I have of the same years...course back then fashion was not as diverse..so we probably all looked alike. :)

Thank you for sharing those pictures! What sweet images! I have black & whites of myself in similar dresses and it really brings back memories. I think things were so much calmer in the 50's...we spent so much time together AT home. I am so glad you let us take a peek into your picture box.

Blessings as you move, Sandy

I'll have to send you a link in email about my GGGGmother "Clementine Thankful"...I have had so much fun reading about the Indian heritage and about the grandfathers that fought in the Civil War....goosebumps!
