Christmas List Progress

I'm sad to report that I made absolutely NO progress on my Christmas projects yesterday!! Not one bit!!

And to top it off, I remembered something that I needed to include in the list--satin pillowcases. I already have the material for these--just need to cut them out and sew them.

Satin pillowcases, you say? Yes, satin pillowcases!!

When I was a teenager, my hair was very long--I could sit on it. If I didn't braid it at night, I had knots galore in the morning!! So, my mom got my sister and I satin pillowcases--and voila--no knots!!

My hair is still long--though not as long as it used to be, and I still use a satin pillowcase. My youngest daughter knew that these prevented knots, and loved them. But, when she moved to Texas she started using regular pillowcases. Her hair is also long.

She went to the hairdresser to get her hair trimmed, and the hairdresser said to her, "You sleep on your left side, don't you?" And she replied, "Yes, I do. How do you know that?" To which the hairdresser replied, "Your hair is thinner on the left side from breakage from your pillowcase."

Guess what?? Back to satin pillowcases for her!!

So, they have been added to the "Christmas To-Do List"!! I've got to stop soon.

Would someone please remind me next year to start on Christmas in January instead on November?

"To Do" Progression, Another Surprise and Best Wishes!!

I've finally finished my "to do" list from the weekend!! Actually, I finished on Sunday and just haven't had the time to post that I did!! I still do need to update my "Love Dare". I'll do that when I'm finished here!!

I've added my list of Christmas projects to my sidebar. Now, the problem with these is that they all are started and none are completed!! Everything is a WIP!! So, I've got to get organized about this and finish one project at a time.

So, here's what I'm going to do--I'm going to pick one project, and as I finish it I'll mark it completed. Seeing this list almost every day will give me some incentive to finish everything before Christmas Eve!!

I wanted to share with you something that the mailman brought me on Saturday. I just love it when the mailman brings a surprise! These are 6 bookmarks that Nancie sent me. They are just beautiful, and I really needed some bookmarks. I have a tendency to just tear off little pieces of paper and place them where I want to mark a spot, so these will really come to good use!!


Nancie also has cards, calendars for 2009 and more styles of bookmarks. I know that I'm going to be ordering some for some special people in my life.

My friend, Aunt Kathy, is going to be having her surgery tomorrow. So, please stop by and wish her good luck with her surgery and a speedy recovery. She is so excited, and she has worked so hard to accomplish her goals!! Way to go, Kathy!! BRING IT ON!!!

I'll be off now to post my "Love Dare" which is going along very well!! I'm so happy that I decided to do this!!

To Do Today

Let's see!! I have a lot to get accomplished today, so I thought I would make a list:

• Go to work from 8-12 this morning.

• Finish the two traveling scarves that I need to send out this weekend.

• Mail out my dishcloth exchange that should have been there by now.

• Update my "Love Dare" on "The Power of Your Love".

• Do something on Christmas projects that I have started.

• And, oh, yes, clean up the mess that Miles has again made with my yarn!! This kitty, I don't know what to do with him!! I have all my yarn in boxes with lids, and he still managed to get into one of them. He took the lid off, and last night I came home to this--

This is only a portion of the mess he has made. Luckily, it was only balls of scrap yarn, but still---

Well, with so much to do, I guess I'd better get started now!!
